Why I started a photography business…

Hey there, friend!

As a business owner I feel it is not only important to be transparent about who I am and what I do, but also why I do it!

I'm gonna take you guys on a journey back to November of '06. The hottest song on the radio was "My Love" - Justin Timberlake ft. T.I. and I was in the 7th grade. It was a Monday and after school I should have stayed for an extra curricular American Sign Language class - our school for the deaf was overcrowded and some of the deaf students had to attend regular school, so we wanted to learn how to communicate with them.

Buuuuut, I decided I didn't feel like taking the class that day so I caught the bus home. I wish I could say it was a long story but it's really as simple as this: while walking home from my bus stop I was hit by a car. Yes, I survived. LOL

We were just weeks away from our family cruise vacation. My Aunt Lori knew I wouldn't enjoy the trip as much because my entire right leg was in a cast and I would end up being in a wheelchair for most of the trip. Aunt Lori bought me a beautiful bright red canon point & shoot camera - and gave me a list of photos to capture on the vacation. You see, my Aunt Lori LOVED to cruise, she was an expert on all of the types of things you always see on cruise ships and on some of the islands we were porting at.

So I took that little red camera everywhere I went on that cruise ship, I knew what pictures I was supposed to capture and I kept my eyes out for the perfect moment to take them - what I didn't realize then was that this was the beginning of my photography training. That trip influenced me developing my own unique style of photography.

See today I pride myself on being able to anticipate moments before they happen, so that I can capture your most fond memories to be cherished forever! Just like how I was able to return home and tell the story of my vacation to my Aunt Lori through the photos I captured, I will also tell YOUR story through the photos I capture for you. I want to be your lifetime photographer, because I want to tell your life story! From proposals to weddings, weddings to baby bumps, baby bumps to families, and every milestone in-between I want to document it beautifully for you!
